Our readers' top 4 picks: the most viewed blog posts of 2023 and what we learned from them.

Disclaimer: We promoted two Cranksgiving blogs in social media ads, driving much higher readership, so we will not include those in this list.

Skip the commentary and go straight to the list or insights for 2024.

During the slower year-end week, we thought it was a good idea to reflect back on 2023 and learn some lessons that would help inform what we plan in 2024. We have one full year in business by now, and 6 months of consistent blogging. In Summer's corporate career, blog and email readership statistics were very helpful. Those stats show what people are compelled to spend their time reading, and it's often surprising to the the sales and marketing teams.

When we started the blog, we had 5-6 months of shop experience and had acquired a solid social media audience and email list. Shop experience informed what compelled people to come to the shop, buy a bike, and also the most common questions they asked. We theorized that our blog readers would be interested in those same topics. Let's see if our theory was correct.

Aside from those Cranksgiving blogs...

Your Top 4 Blog Pics

1. Big News: We're Moving!

News about us moving to a new location was popular on social media, email, and in our blog. If you haven't read anything about it https://www.redlandselectricbikes.com/post/big-news-we-re-moving

2. Biking Around: A Not Entirely Comprehensive List of Places to Bike

We've heard guests in the shop mention this post, so we know it got eyeballs. Some of our guests are avid cyclists who get their first e-bike and continue with their favorite activity. And others are getting back on a bike after not riding for a while, and those folks are hungry for ideas on where they can ride. A lot has changed since high school!

3. Local Cycling Events in December

We listed fun things to do with or on your bike in the month of December. https://www.redlandselectricbikes.com/post/local-cycling-events-in-december

4. Discover the Charm of Downtown with the "Taste of Redlands" Self-Guided E-Bike Tour

We created a couple of routes in Redlands that let you explore and have fun on a bike. Great for visitors, people entertaining visitors, or residents looking for something new to do. Guided or self-guided options that you can do on a rented bike or your own bike. https://www.redlandselectricbikes.com/post/discover-the-charm-of-downtown-with-the-taste-of-redlands-self-guided-e-bike-tour

If we went further into top blogs, we'd see even more of a pattern (November Events, Where Can I Ride it? ranked just outside the top 4)

The Insights Speak For Themselves

When in the shop, you might ask questions about battery range, motor, how to upkeep the battery, how the e-bike works, etc. But it wasn't something you wanted to read about.

You might like videos on social media about tips and tricks for riding and maintaining your e-bike, but you also don't want to read about that.

When spending a few minutes to read a post or an email, it better have something fun in it. Group bike rides, local events you could ride to, and local parks and trails to ride your bike. And the good news is that we like riding and attending events too, so you can bet we're going to post more of that content in 2024.

We can't help but try to keep everyone safe, so you'll still have to suffer through some of the maintenance and best practice advice. When you get your new e-bike, you'll be happy it's here for reference.
